Event description

Low-cost, effective tools and tips for building your farm’s brand

Want to ramp up your reach and connect with more customers this year? Or getting ready to share your story and produce for the first time, but not sure where to invest your time and energy?  Kinda feel like it’s time to stop having all your eggs in the social media basket?

You don’t have to spend a fortune or post on Instagram every single day to make ripples (or sales)! More and more foodies want to support local, small farmers like you - and this practical, action-focussed workshop will run you through our favourite free or low cost tools that make it easier for farmers’ customers to find, love and buy from you.

Join us for a social hour (and a bit) of power, learning how to make the most of budget-friendly tools to increase your visibility, build credibility and grow your business. The tools will range from free ways to reach more customers, to tricks for saving time and making your marketing look more professional. It’ll help build the foundations and momentum for more strategic marketing in future, and save you time in the long run. And yes, we’ll cover ChatGPT and AI!

Mike from AgWe will also join us to share their approach to storytelling and sustainable brand-building, and a bit about the Essentials package they're offering to kickstart the year.

Your host: Jessi, Elephant Pigeon Communication

I’m a marketing consultant and former hobby-farm kid, and in 2019 I founded Elephant Pigeon Communication, providing marketing and PR services for farm-to-table businesses who want to grow their customer base and community. I’m a big believer in connection, clarity, a little craft beer, and that magic happens when people get engaged with where their food comes from.  I can help with your PR, social media and community networking, with packages ranging from strategy only (so you can DIY), to strategy and coaching (support while you DIY), to done-for-you (where we take it off your plate so you can focus on what you do best).

    Special guest: Mike from AgWe

Mike started his career as a filmmaker in the ag industry, telling farmers’ stories of family, passion and overcoming tough times. Along with co-founder Will, AgWe was launched in 2020 and has since been creating a community of farmers to help build their presence online. AgWe creates engaging digital profiles for farmers to help them establish and improve an online presence through storytelling, photography, traceability and sustainable farming data, and a unique use of QR codes to drive customers back to that profile. Both Mike and Will are passionate about helping farmers get their stories out there, and consumers being able to access and learn about honest, sustainably grown products.

    The venue: Project Salubrious

We’ll be in the meeting room on-site at Project Salubrious, 143 Rowley Rd in Burpengary. Kurt and his team create everything from scratch using vibrant whole ingredients, with a focus on local producers like Basilea Living Herbs, Tin Shed Farm, the Mini Farm Project and more.  Everything on the menu (except the coffee) is free from gluten, grains, dairy, soy and refined-sugar, but full of flavour thanks to Kurt's attention to detail and career spanning high end kitchens across the world. Trust me - even the fussiest eaters love this stuff and can't tell it's gluten free.
