Build Your own Native Bee Hotel
Event description
Come along to this fun and family-friendly workshop where you’ll learn all about the fascinating world of native bees — our gentle, solitary pollinators who play a vital role in local ecosystems.
Led by Hannah from Habitat Connections, together we’ll explore:
The different types of native bees found in our region
How they nest, what they eat, and how to spot them
Why they’re important for biodiversity and backyard gardens
Then, get creative and hands-on as you build your very own bee hotel. These will provide a safe nesting spot for cavity-nesting native bees - and you’ll get to take yours home to welcome some wild visitors into your garden!
This workshop is perfect for kids aged 5+ and their grown-ups. All materials provided. No experience needed - just a love of nature and a willingness to get stuck in!
This session is seeded by Green Adelaide and hosted by the Victor Harbor Library.
