Building an Economy for all New Zealanders
Event description
Progressive parties need a clear account of how wealth is created in the economy. Recent international debates have moved on from narrow ideas of what role the state can play in the economy, and there is broad interest in a new economic narrative that does not simply require government to get out of the way of market forces.
This event will share emerging ideas about how new thinking on industrial policy can support Labour’s economic narrative leading into the next election, and how a more ambitious role for the state can open up new possibilities for shaping an economy that works for all New Zealanders.
