Event description
Do you live in Aura or surrounding suburbs? Are you interested in helping make Aura a great place to live? Do you want to get involved and meet others in your neighbourhood?
Baringa Community Centre in partnership with Community Praxis Co-op and funded by a Stockland Community Grantis running a course over 4 weeks starting in November 3rd called “Building a Better Community in Aura”. The course brings people together to explore what sort of community they would like to live in and through a series of fun, interactive sessions help residents develop the confidence, skills and connections to make things happen. Each weekly session will go for 2—3 hours. Participants must attend all 4 sessions.
The course explores ideas and topics such as:
· What is community?
· How do we get past our differences?
· What does it take to get people working together?
· How can we sustain actions and groups in community?
Community Praxis Co-op has delivered this course in many communities across QLD and Baringa Community Centre has invited them to bring the course to Aura.
