Building Effective Interdisciplinary Healthcare Teams

Event description

Interdisciplinary teamwork in health and social care is crucial for providing comprehensive patient care. It requires the healthcare team of various disciplines to collaborate interdependently toward common, measurable goals.

Working as an allied health leader involves navigating the complexities of interdisciplinary teams, managing diverse professions, as well as understanding, and integrating different professional philosophies and roles. Effective leadership in this context demands the ability to maintain stability, foster psychological safety, open discussion, and facilitate problem-solving.

This two-hour webinar will delve into the complexities of interdisciplinary teamwork using the I-O-G framework, examining factors from individual, organisational, and global perspectives. Participants will learn to navigate and leverage these dimensions to foster strong interdisciplinary collaboration. The workshop will also address how different team structures and care environments influence the dynamics and requirements of interdisciplinary teamwork.

Participants will be introduced to a diagnostic tool for interdisciplinary team audits that can be taken back and applied within an organisation. There will also be an opportunity to complete a self-assessment checklist to identify areas for improvement in their team dynamics and personal roles. These tools will support fostering a culture of continuous improvement and adaptation in response to team needs and environmental factors.

In addition to the 2-hour in-person workshop, you will receive six months of access to an interactive online learning community and a repository of key resources to support your continued learning and growth.
