Building partnership with Māori: A Matariki perspective

This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

In this in person workshop we will cover:

Do we have an active conscious commitment to be ‘esteeming of things Māori’ by celebrating and learning about and bringing to the fore the indigenous knowledge and understanding of Aotearoa – the whenua, the wairua and the people?

There are new developments in Aotearoa to embrace and honour Māori indigenous wisdom (such as with our new Matariki holiday) regarding the land, mental health and broader health areas, education and law.

Drawing on a Matariki perspective and understanding to honour and build partnership with Māori as intended in Te Tiriti.

Are we open to exploring and learning what is needed in our organisations?

Review & Renew:

Having courageous conversations about:

  • Reviewing the actions that may have happened prior to now. How are we doing with those?  What might the ‘blocks’ be? What will support us to move forward? Knowing and being aware of our own culture and how this impacts on our openness to other peoples’ cultures, are we building partnership?

  • Is our culture as an organisation transparent to us as a team?  Are we conscious of how we individually and together contribute to our culture? Are there areas we need to renew, change, grow, adjust; both individually and in our organisations?

Arrive: From 9am.

Session start time: 9.30am.

Lunch will be provided. Please advise us of any dietary requirements to simon@ancad.org.nz

Presenter: Hilary Star Foged
