Building Resilience and Mental Health Fitness in our Teenage Kids
Event description
Local mental health education organisation, Man Anchor, has been working with students at
Northern Beaches Secondary College - Cromer Campus for more than 12 months. In 2023,
Steven Gamble, the founder of Man Anchor, will be working with more students to help build
resilience and mental health fitness.
On Wednesday 22 March, Steven Gamble will be presenting a mental health workshop for
Northern Beaches families, looking at mental health from a community point of view, addressing
prevention, early intervention and treatment.
Steven will present new ways of thinking about mental health including a few life hacks to stay
on the good side of the mental health spectrum.
A northern beaches resident, Steven founded Man Anchor in 2017 in response to a speight of
tragic suicides within the local community. While Steven initially hoped he could help by
empowering men with the tools to support positive mental health, Man Anchor has grown into a
national organisation that provides mental education programs across all genders, age groups
and cultural backgrounds.
Steven’s passion is to increase the mental health literacy level of all Australians and support
generational change in the way we address mental health within our community, family units
and workplaces. All with the ultimate aim of reducing the suicide rate in both youth and adults.
Outside of Man Anchor Steve is a passionate Crisis Support Work with Lifeline Australia and a
Resilience Coach.
NOTE THIS IS AN ADULT ONLY EVENT, we will run a discussion with Steven directed for kids only in term 2.
