Australians are more worried than ever about their digital identities and digital services, having witnessed the likes of the Optus, Medibank and Latitude breaches over the last 12 months. What the public doesn’t necessarily see is the connected operational technology and computer systems that sustain our society, economy and nation, much of which is equally vulnerable to malicious state and criminal actors.

While we can prevent as much cyber harm as we can by good architecture, and policies, we need to plan for when those controls to fail. Observability of systems and networks is vital to detect bad actors quickly, so we can take remedial action to reduce harms associated with risk being realised.
