Overview:

Most service-based business owners start as sole traders because it’s simple.

Easy to register.
Easy to invoice.
Easy to “figure out later.”

But structure isn’t just admin. It shapes your tax, your risk, your growth, and what happens if life throws you a curveball.

At some point, structure stops being a formality and starts being strategic.

In this live, facilitated conversation, Consulting CFO Shaye Thyer sits down with Alicia Chapman, Tax Agent and small business specialist, to unpack when to rethink your business structure — and how to know it’s time.

We’ll demystify sole traders, companies and trusts without jargon, fear tactics or “you should have done this earlier” shame.
