Bulk Buying Groups - save money, support farmers & eat good food
Event description
Looking for ways to reduce your grocery bill or food miles? Want to support regenerative farmers and your local community? Keen for an excuse to regularly catch-up with good people over good food?
We reckon you’d love being part of a Bulk Buyers Group (or mini co-op) - a group of friends, family or neighbours getting together to pool your buying power and order the stuff you want, at lower wholesale prices.
Join us for a fun, practical afternoon to find out what Bulk Buyers Groups are, the many benefits, and how to start your own!
This community info session includes:
- A chat about the benefits of resilient, tight-knit food communities
- Panel discussion with reps from established buyers groups on how their group runs, what they buy, where they find members and what they’d tell newbies
- The launch of our new Bulk Buyers Guide, a handbook full of steps and tips and for starting your own gathered from our extensive history supporting Buyers Groups
You'll also have the chance to connect with potential farmers and suppliers, like:
- The Mini Farm Project
- Blue Dog Farm
- The Salisbury Mill
- K2 Beef and Eco Meat
- Sovereign Foods
- Ian Burow
Plus we'll have snacks from our friends at Three Little Birds, and the bar will be open to make it a proper Sunday gathering! 🍻 Stick around afterward for the launch of Formidable Vegetable’s new eco-funk-swing album, Microbiome!
“Saying eff you to the big supermarkets, saving $$$, meeting like minded people, learning new things, buying better quality at lower prices - I would recommend joining a co-op for so many reasons.” - BNE Buyers Group
