🍔 Burgers & Brotherhood

Series 1: Opening Up the Protector Conversation

Good food. Honest conversations. Stronger men. Stronger communities.

What does it really mean to be a protector?

Men are often expected to be the ones who stay strong, solve the problem, protect their family and keep everything under control.

But what happens when the pressure becomes too much?

Opening Up the Protector Myth is the first session in our four-part Burgers & Brotherhood series — a relaxed evening where local men can grab a burger, meet other blokes and have an honest conversation about strength, responsibility, resilience and mateship.

We'll challenge the idea that being strong means carrying everything alone and explore what it really means to protect the people you care about.

💬 What we'll explore

The pressure men can feel to always be strong and have the answers
Where the "protector" expectation comes from
What strength looks like when things don't go to plan
Why asking for help can actually be a strength
How looking after yourself helps you look after others
The importance of mates, connection and community
How we can build resilience before we actually need it

💡 Why attend?

Because being prepared isn't just about having the right equipment.

It's also about knowing yourself, knowing your limits and knowing who you can turn to when things get tough.

Come along to:

Meet other local men
Have a relaxed and honest conversation
Challenge some of the expectations placed on men
Build your support network
Take away practical ideas for building resilience
Enjoy a free meal and a night of good conversation

Being a protector doesn't mean doing everything yourself.

Sometimes the strongest thing you can do is know when to reach out, who to call and who has your back.
