Burgmann College Annual Reconciliation Lecture 2026 presented by Shannan Dodson

Burgmann College is honoured to announce Shannan Dodson will deliver the 2026 Annual Reconciliation Lecture, held one year out from the 30th anniversary of the Bringing Them Home report. Shannan will speak about the impact of forced removals and the work that is yet to be done to bring justice for Stolen Generation survivors.

Shannan Dodson is a Yawuru woman, her family are from Broome, Western Australia. She is the Chief Executive Officer of The Healing Foundation and has more than 20 years’ experience in Indigenous affairs. She has held senior leadership roles including Deputy CEO of the National Aboriginal Sporting Chance Academy (NASCA) and Co-Chair of the National NAIDOC Committee. Her work focuses on First Nations’ rights, understanding mental health issues, and intergenerational trauma for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
