Burgundy Masterclass with Jamie Waugh

The small, but hugely influential French wine region of Burgundy can be intimidating for even the most seasoned wine aficionado. Home to some of the world’s finest and most expensive wines, this historic appellation has captured the imagination of wine lovers around the world for centuries. We are delighted to be welcoming Burgundy expert, Jamie Waugh to our shop on the London Road to present a Burgundy masterclass and tasting to our St Albans customers. Jamie will talk us through 8 wines, uncovering the different terroirs and microclimates that make the region so hallowed. From better known Chablis and Chassagne Montrachet to less recognised names such as Fixin and Mercurey, we will take you on a vinous journey encompassing Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Aligoté and Gamay. A fine selection of French cheese and cured meats from local cheesemonger, the Fleetville Larder will accompany the splendid line up of fine wine.
