Get cheeky on the chair as award winning burlesque performer, Willow J teaches you tantalising tricks and seductive sequences with this cabaret inspired dance. Using the chair as a prop Willow will introduce you to classic and contemporary chair dancing techniques incorporating cabaret, burlesque and seductive stocking peeling! Build body confidence while flaunting your feminine energy - the PURRRfect way to get fit, tone and find empowerment and joy!

Once banned for its bawdy and risqué dance moves, Burlesque has now made its way into the hearts of many and has taken the world by storm! This sensual, seductive and flirtatious dance form is celebrated by women around the globe as a movement that has given women agency over their bodies and freedom to express their sensuality in uplifting, joyful ways.

Burlesque has a rich HERstory dating wayyy back to 440BC and has developed over the years to become an expressive dance form celebrating femininity with theatricality. Not only does Burlesque allow you to express your inner most dancing Diva, but it helps to build body confidence and awareness, improve fitness and develop flexibility in the most joyful way possible!

Throughout the 8-week course Willow will introduce you to a range of dance moves exploring ways of moving on around, over and off the chair. Each week will introduce new moves which will develop into a fun and playful choreographed sequence. Remember: chairs aren't for sitting on - they're for dancing on! The office chair will never look the same again!

WHAT TO WEAR

Please wear socks or stockings and whatever you feel comfy in, however you feel like expressing yourself as long as your clothes don't restrict your movement and you can move freely- what you'd wear to the gym or yoga is purrrfect!

NB: All participants will be required to purchase their own pair of stay-up stockings by week four.

Willow is a celebrated and award winning Burlesque Performer and teacher who has been sharing her love for burlesque around the globe since 2002 and teaching since 2008. Willow was one of Australia's first burlesque teachers who developed programs and courses that are now taught nation wide. She has a degree in Acting, is a qualified teacher/trainer, is a certified 350hr Yoga Teacher, has studied dance and theatre around the world including France, Germany and Japan. Bumpin' her butt off around the world, Willow has performed at prestigious events such as London Burlesque Festival and The Burlesque Hall of Fame in Las Vegas, and has taught internationally including USA, London, Japan, Germany. A great communicator committed to sharing her skills love for dance with others, Willow is a passionate, caring and supportive teacher who holds safe space for women to explore and discover the many benefits burlesque has to offer!
