Event description

Your neighborhood Burn - Don't go out, Come BurnIn

BurnIn is a family friendly arts and camping gathering of friends - because we all could use some good vibes in a nice place not too far from DC!

What to expect: This is an 11 principle event, with a cap of 50 human adults;

What does it cost:  Adult tickets are priced at $65.00.  Kids under 16 are free - but please get a ticket for them too - helps us plan! Day pass is $25.  Day pass means you will not be camping over night.

The ticket price funds adequate portas and cleaning, land use, small art grants, some infrastructure, some minor administrative costs, and a budget for kids activities.

If you'd like to donate more - our budget is pretty bare bones - you can do that on check out.
If there are any funds left over we will use it to purchase more stuff for the next event.  As always, we will publish the financials after the event.

Also, please - no bar camps. Personal use alcohol is ok - please be thoughtful about consumption and driving if you just want a day pass.

We will have some activities, like tutu making, costume camp and ... effigy building in memory of our dear friend KJ.

There will be a liability waiver at the gate that everyone must sign.

Things to know about the land - especially if you have kids
You should be aware that there are poison ivy, ticks, wild animals and snakes on this property.

Pet Policy – No Pets, except service animals with papers. Please send an email to pre-register service animals

RVs and Trailer Policy - RVs, trailers, and buses are allowed, but we would like to make sure we have a space for you, so please let us know if you are bringing an oversized vehicle that you plan to camp in. Please note that spaces are not going to be totally level.

Sound Policy - Amplified music down after 10:00 PM

Flame Effects Policy – Contact us

Fire Policy - There maybe a fire ban in place if it's dry and windy.   Please consult the organizers before setting up your fire pit.  We do have some seasoned firewood on the property  Assuming no fire ban is in place, you can bring a burn barrel for your camp, or have a fire in one of a couple of small existing rings. We will also have a community burn barrel. There is some wood on site, and more if you want to gather and/or chop it. You must bring a fire extinguisher and someone must be watching the fire at all times until it is completely out. We plan to have a place where cold ash can be dumped, or you can pack it out.

Fire spinning is permitted, with appropriate precautions, including having a safety. Please talk to us about the potential fire ban.

Kids Policy - This is a kids focused burn.  Last burn (BurnOut) turned magical, when kids were running around freely.  You are welcome and encouraged to bring kids, but they must be supervised by a responsible adult. If you want to bring a minor and are not their guardian, you’ll need to bring a waiver signed by their parent or guardian.

Alcohol Policy - If you are 21 or older, you may bring alcohol to consume or share with campmates who are also 21+, although walking around with glass is discouraged. “Bar” camps are not permitted. If you are planning to go in and out please have a designated driver.

In and Outs / Day Pass Coming in and out is allowed. You can come for one day with a day pass.

Open Camping – Camping is available in designated areas, either in the woods or around the perimeter of the main field. You can also car camp if the access road is not muddy. We will direct you at the gate.

Parking - There is plenty of parking in the field. A volunteer will direct you at the gate.

Washing – Please wash your dishes or your bodies with no soap. If you are planning to use soap or shampoo, please prepare to carry out your gray water. Environmentally friendly soap like Dr Bonners is ok

Art Grants – We don’t have a formal process for art grants; The budget depends on how many tickets we sell. There will be a form on this site to fill out to apply for art grants. Ideally, we would like to purchase art that is designed to stay in the elements and be integrated into the environment. There are lots of growth everywhere.

Porta Potties – Porta potties will be serviced Sunday morning.

Special Needs – Please send an email to burnwithnoname@gmail.com if you have any special needs. We would do our best to meet your needs.

What to bring - All the food, water, medication, clothing, toiletries, and camping gear you need for the weekend. We suggest sturdy shoes and socks due to the presence of roots, snakes, and ticks. Art and food to share. Craft supplies if you’d like to donate some for the kids’ activities.

What not to bring - Fireworks, anything illegal
