Join our friendly Bushcare Team, at beautiful Clovelly Bay for an introduction to bushcare volunteering.

Suitable for 7-years and up, this is a great opportunity to learn the craft of bush regeneration alongside Council's knowledgeable Bushcare team and dedicated bushcare volunteers at this idyllic site. 

Clovelly Bay is one of the smaller of the Bushcare sites in Randwick City, yet it contains a fascinating mix of rare coastal headland species under threat from some of the key local weed species including lantana and asparagus fern and is situated with views to the ocean, and ....the perfect spot for a dip afterwards!

All tools, training and equipment is provided in a welcoming team environment.

You'll possibly meet neighbours, will get active, learn something about your local area and feel connected to 

Meet opposite 18 Eastbourne Ave Clovelly. Look out for the Council Bushcare van.

What's provided!

  • Gloves
  • gardening tools and equipment
  • morning tea! 

    What to bring?

    • sturdy, non-slip and enclosed shoes
    • long sleeves and long trousers
    • hat and sunglasses
    • water to drink and a mug for morning tea! and ..
    • a positive, "give-it-a-go" attitude!

    Important notes!

    • Minimum age: 7 years
    • Children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian
    • Parents or adult guardians accompanying children need to pay
    • The event may be cancelled due to insufficient bookings or poor weather.

    Clovelly Bay Bushcare site consists of two remnant patches of native coastal heath.

    Photographs, videos and voice recordings

    Randwick City Council staff may on occasion take recordings of participants during activities (including photographs, videos and voice recordings) that could be used for the following purposes:

    • educational or community information purpose
    • Council displays and promotions of community education events
    • to complement the promotion of Randwick's Marine and Coastal Program.

    If you DO NOT wish for the participant’s recording to be used according to these conditions, please indicate this during the booking process.

    Cancellation conditions

    This activity may be cancelled due to insufficient bookings or poor weather. Participants will be advised in the event the activity changes or cancellation occurs. All care has been made in the preparation of the 2024 Marine and Coastal Discovery Program but some changes may occur due to circumstances beyond the control of Randwick City Council. Refunds will be provided for paid activities in the event of cancellation by Council.
