Embers of imagination workshop

This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

Hobart is Australia’s most bushfire-prone capital.

We are interested in how renters think about bushfire, and in new ways of talking about living with bushfire. This is part of research by the University of Tasmania.

If you are living in a rental property in the Greater Hobart region and aged over 18 you are invited to participate in this research.

Come along and take part in a fun and free theatre workshop.

What to expect

This workshop is a collaboration between social researchers and Hobart Playback Company, an improvisational theatre community group. You will be in the audience and have opportunity to share thoughts, questions, feelings, and experiences about bushfire if you want. Performers will ‘act out’ the stories emerging from participants. You do not need to have firsthand experience of bushfire. If you have never thought about bushfire before, please come along: your experience matters! At the end of the workshop, you will be asked to complete a short survey. Come and fire up your imagination!
