As Brisbane undergoes a period of significant growth, understanding the strategic trajectory of our region is critical for local commerce and industry leaders. During his address, the Lord Mayor will outline Brisbane’s future direction, with a particular focus on jobs, housing, transport, and the lead-up to the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. This session offers authoritative insights into how these pivotal areas will shape the city's economic and community landscape. Following the presentation, time will be allocated for a dedicated Q&A session, allowing attendees to engage directly on these vital topics.
Alongside the presentation, guests will enjoy a hot plated breakfast, fruit salad, Danish pastries, and tea, coffee and juice throughout the morning.

Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner
Adrian Schrinner became the 17th Lord Mayor of Brisbane in 2019, following many years of experience as a Councillor and Deputy Mayor of Australia’s largest local government. Adrian was born in Brisbane and grew up on the south side. He learnt the foundations of hard work from his parents who ran a small suburban cleaning business. His first job was working in the family business and he spent his school holidays earning money for flying lessons. Adrian was particularly drawn to the unique community building and city-shaping role that Brisbane City Council played and jumped at the opportunity to serve residents as a local Councillor. He was first elected as the Councillor for Chandler Ward in 2005 and within three years was asked by the Lord Mayor to join Civic Cabinet. In 2011, he was elected by his colleagues as Deputy Mayor and served in this role for eight years. Adrian has a clear vision for the future and his goal is simple: to ensure the Brisbane of tomorrow is better than the Brisbane of today. By delivering new infrastructure for a growing city and investing in Brisbane’s lifestyle, Adrian is leading his team to transform Brisbane for the better. City-shaping projects are underway and includes building better roads, supporting better and more frequent public transport, keeping the budget balanced to keep pressure off household rates and rents, and making Brisbane’s lifestyle even better. Adrian is focused on improving Brisbane’s suburbs and his “suburbs first” guarantee is ensuring at least 80 per cent of Council expenditure is invested in the suburbs. Adrian and his wife Nina’s proudest achievements are their four young children who they are raising together in Carindale. As a father and Lord Mayor, he is determined to ensure Brisbane keeps getting better.
