Business Builders September Networking Drinks

Where would we be without migrants?

The answer is all around us. In September we're going to take a look at how migrants are already helping in our state and the greater opportunities they represent.

Go back two or three generations and most of us come from someone who arrived here from somewhere else. That's not a piece of history. It's how this state was built, and it's still how the state grows today.

Migrants come to South Australia and start businesses that employ South Australians. They lead teams inside some of our biggest organisations. They fill skilled roles we can't fill locally, and they bring international networks that give our businesses reach we could never build on our own.

On Monday 7 September, four people who know it first hand take the stage together.

• Martin Radcliffe, CEO of Adelaide Venue Management.

• Sim Penzo, CEO of CodeFish Studio.

• Rakesh Prabhakar, Country Head ANZ at Zoho.

• And Sonya Paterson, whose job at the Department of State Development is bringing international talent to South Australia and connecting them with businesses like yours.

They're going to talk about how they got here, how they've helped since, and what the rest of us can do for the people who are here already and still trying to get established, because when that happens, everybody gains.

Because "Who's helping build South Australia?" isn't a rhetorical question.

As with all our events, there will be plenty of time before and after the conversation to connect with other South Australian business leaders. No selling. No shallow networking. Just honest conversations with people carrying similar responsibility.

If you employ people, run a business, or you're looking for skills you can't find locally, this is for you. And if you're one of the people still getting established here, come along, because the room will be full of the people you need to meet.
