Business for Good Workshop 5: Raising Capital
Event description
The Business for Good Sector Development Program is for social enterprises, First Nations owned businesses, B Corps and small businesses who are interested in intentionally embedding social and environmental impact into their businesses.
Our Business for Good workshop series will cover a range of small business fundamentals topics with an impact lens to help SA small businesses build key knowledge and capabilities to drive social and environmental impact through sustainable business development and growth.
Workshop 5: Raising Capital
The workshop will provide an overview of capital raising options and considerations for early-stage social entrepreneurs, helping participants think through the trade-offs and possible opportunities for each option. We will cover the '5 C’s for Successful Funding' model – Clarity, Credibility, Communities, Channels and Courage - focusing on the actions that can be taken to create more clarity, credibility and momentum early on to increase the ability to raise capital.
This workshop will be led by Tom Dawkins, Co founder and CEO StartSomeGood.
Following Tom's session, Collab4Good will facilitate an interactive capital stack activity to provide some really practical embodied learning, so please feel free to stay on for an extra informal hour of learning and networking. Light refreshments will be provided.
