📅 Tuesday 12 August 2025 🕖 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM 📍 McDonald Jones Stadium

As the dust settles on the 2025–26 NSW Budget, Business Hunter invites you to join us for an in-depth discussion on what it means for the Hunter region and its business community. Proudly sponsored by KPMG Australia and CPA Australia.

This Business in Focus breakfast will feature a keynote address from NSW Treasurer The Hon. Daniel Mookhey MLC, followed by a moderated Q&A and an economic update from a local economist. Together, we’ll explore the opportunities, priorities, and broader implications of this year’s state budget for regional development, infrastructure, cost-of-doing-business pressures, and investment confidence.

From pre-announced funding commitments in health, energy, and logistics to the ongoing delivery of major infrastructure projects, the Budget reflects a steady approach to supporting key sectors. Business Hunter has welcomed many of these investments, such as the Newcastle Renewable Energy Logistics Precinct and Future Jobs and Investment Authority, as strong signals of the Government’s support for economic diversification.

At the same time, we continue to advocate for greater attention to the challenges facing business today, including rising input costs, tax pressures, and the need for targeted reforms that stimulate growth. This forum offers the business community the chance to hear directly from the Treasurer, ask questions, and better understand how current fiscal settings will shape the region’s trajectory, and better understand how current fiscal settings affect your business
