Event description

Did You Know?

  • Men are twice as likely to be using AI tools than women.
  • In Australia, it has been reported that 17% of men have had AI training compared to 7% of women (as of Sept 2023)
  • The World Economic Forum ‘Future of Jobs Report 2023’ indicates that by 2027, 43% of work tasks will be automated.
  • Recent predictions have shown that 26 million female jobs in 30 countries are at risk of displacement through technology.
  • More than 70% of the jobs deemed to be at high risk are held by women.
  • Globally, up to 160 million women may need to transition between occupations and enter into higher-skilled roles due to automation.

Although women may be expected to be disproportionately impacted by job losses, the successful implementation of AI and technology requires diverse teams. How can we use this moment of change to accelerate diversity and inclusion, as opposed to see progress go backward?
