The University’s Net Zero Plan 2040 was developed through extensive consultation in 2022-23 and approved by Senate in June 2023. The Plan will be formally launched in mid-Autumn 2023.

In a direct response to the Net Zero Plan, work is underway to look at ways to reduce our carbon footprint across all areas of our operations and functions, including an updating of the University Travel Policy to encourage more sustainable business-related travel.

We are now seeking your input into the development of sustainable travel guidance for those travelling on University business. This guidance will form part of a revised travel policy which is currently in development and due to be finalised in early 2024.

We invite you to attend a workshop to consider the feedback from the Survey, to consider best practice in the sector and to help develop ideas which are relevant to Queen's and Strategy 2030 and help us meet our Net Zero commitments.

The workshops will be held on 11th October (in-person) and 12th October (online).

For the workshop on 11th October, lunch will be available from 1-1:30pm, with the workshop starting at 1:30pm.
