This is your chance to create an amazing feature book.

You will come away with a very attractive structure that incorporates three sewing styles (pamphlet stitch, single sheet Coptic and figure-of-eight stitch) to create a book with hinged sections and hinged or plain cover.

Materials required:

• Notebook, pen, pencil, eraser, scissors, set-square, metal ruler,

• Snap-blade knife,

• Cutting mat (or a thick piece of waste cardboard),

• Rag or chux,

• Strong, decorative paper for covering boards and for optional spine folds,

• Paper for pages, several large sheets 150 to 300 gsm, watercolour, printmaking or cartridge paper,

• Grey board or framers matt board for covers,

• Size 20 or 22 tapestry or chenille needles (at least 4).

CBFAC will supply other materials needed.

Open to adults (participants must by 16 years or older).

About the Artist

Adele Outterridge is a Brisbane based artist whose work is well represented in private and public collections and has appeared in major publications in Australia and overseas.  She has for many years provided innovative book arts workshops.

REFUND POLICY

A full refund can be provided when written notification is received at least 14 days before the workshop start date and time. This allows us time to readvertise your space as we need full numbers to make workshops viable. Refunds are not provided for cancellations received after this time, for non-attendance, or for part-attendance (applies to a two or three-part workshop/ongoing course). We cannot offer a credit towards future workshops.

CANCELLATION  OF AN EVENT DUE TO NOT REACHING CLASS NUMBERS

Thankfully this is an unusual occurrence, but it can happen. If we don’t reach the minimum number of bookings required to go ahead, we will notify you within seven days of the workshop date and issue a refund. 

WEATHER

On site at the Butter Factory

We work in an undercover outdoor area, well-protected from the weather.  However, if driving is a safety issue, we may need to cancel. We will do our best to advise you by email before the start-time, but this may not always be possible due to power failures/internet reception/staff being stranded. Please check your email and junk mail for notices before leaving home. Refunds issued in full.
