Manly Xmas Gift Swap 2025
Event description
This Christmas, let’s do things a little differently. Instead of getting swept up in the rush to buy more, spend more, and wrap more, let's slow down and celebrate what really matters — community, creativity, and joy.
Manly Food Co-op, Buy Nothing Manly and Op for Change have joined forces to create an inaugural Manly Xmas Gift Swap event.
By swapping gifts instead of shopping for them, we can give our unwanted treasures a new life, cut down on waste, and show that second-hand can be just as special (if not more so!) than something straight off the shelf.
Let’s make this Christmas about connection, not consumerism — and have a whole lot of fun in the process.
How to join the swap:
1) Have a scout around at home for great quality items that you no longer need - try to find at least 3.
2) Register your attendance here.
3) Keep your eyes out for more items as we wait for the big day!
3) On the day, bring 3 to 7 items that you'd like to pass on, collect an equal number of tokens, browse the collection and take home the same number of gifts.
Doors will open from 9.00am for the drop off of gifts. The swap will commence at 10.00am.
IMPORTANT GIFTING RULES:
Items should be clean, in good condition, and giftable (something you’d be happy to receive).
