BWC Get Online Week: Spot That Scam!

Spot The Scam Before It Gets You

A suspicious text? An offer too good to be true? How do you know what to trust?

Join us at Newtown Wellness Centre for a friendly morning of trivia, prizes and practical help to build your confidence online.

Try your hand at our scam-spotting trivia, share a laugh and learn some useful tips along the way. Together, we’ll explore how to recognise scam emails and messages, protect personal information and spot some of the tricks used in AI-generated images and text.

Then bring your questions, and your phone, tablet or laptop, to our 30-minute digital clinic. Trained volunteers will offer individual help, whether you’re puzzled by a setting, unsure about a message or simply want to know how to do something on your device.

You don’t need to be confident with technology to join in. There will be time to ask questions, enjoy refreshments and connect with other women.

Come along, bring a friend and leave with a few more tools to help you stay safe online.
