Bystander Conversations after disasters – conversations about bystander interventions into gender-based violence.

ARC Gender Relations, Men and Family Centre will facilitate their bystander intervention training which:

• Supports an understanding of family violence and trauma in the context of disaster
• Explores how bystanders can intervene in gender-based (and other forms of) violence, in a post-disaster context and in everyday conversations and situations
• Shows how gendered and social norms and subtle sexist attitudes are linked to disrespectful and abusive behaviours, and how these things are intensified in times of disasters
• Invites reflection and supports participants to develop practical, active bystander intervention skills
