Returning to cacao- A Sensory Journey- Cacao and chocolate tasting
Description
A Sensory Journey for Women
An intimate cacao experience celebrating women, the senses and our connection to a sacred plant medicine
This experience is part of the Women of Cacao (WOC) Summit, a global gathering celebrating women shaping the world of cacao and chocolate, from cacao growers and chocolate makers to educators, researchers, wellness practitioners and cacao guides.
What if reconnecting with cacao began not with knowing more, but with feeling more?
Before cacao became chocolate, it was a plant deeply woven into the foodways, relationships, stories and ceremonies of many Indigenous peoples across Mesoamerica and the Amazon.
For generations, knowledge around cacao has been carried through communities, through cultivation, preparation, food, ritual and relationship with the land. Women have played important roles in many of these traditions, carrying knowledge of food, plants and preparation through generations.
Returning to Cacao is an invitation to slow down and explore our relationship with this ancient plant through our senses while honouring the cultures, lands and people who have carried cacao before us.
A sensory journey through cacao
Together, we will explore cacao beyond the cup:
TOUCH
Feel cacao in your hands and explore its texture, form and warmth.
SMELL
Slow down and meet cacao through its aromas before tasting.
TASTE
A guided cacao and chocolate tasting, exploring different expressions of this beautiful plant.
RECEIVE
A nourishing cacao facial ritual, an invitation to experience cacao through touch, warmth and presence.
CONNECT
A mini cacao ceremony to close the experience, creating space to slow down, sip cacao with presence and turn inward.
A gathering for women
There is something powerful about gathering around a plant that has travelled through generations.
Together, we will explore:
-Our relationship with cacao
-Our relationship with our senses
-Our relationship with our bodies
-Our connection with other women
and what it means to approach an ancestral plant with respect and presence
You will experience
• An introduction to cacao and its ancestral relationship with people, land and community
• A guided cacao & chocolate sensory tasting
• A sensory cacao facial ritual
• A mini cacao ceremony
• Time for reflection, connection and conversation
• An intimate gathering of women
Limited to 12 women.
This small group is intentional, allowing us to create a more intimate space for connection, presence and shared experience.
Who is this for?
This experience is for women who feel curious about cacao, love sensory experiences, are drawn to ancestral plant wisdom, or simply feel called to slow down and reconnect.
No previous experience with cacao or ceremony is needed.
Come exactly as you are.
Just bring your senses, your curiosity and yourself.
Come to remember
Perhaps there is something this ancient plant has been waiting to remind you of.
A slower way of being.
A deeper way of listening.
A connection that begins simply by being present.
Come to taste.
Come to feel.
Come to connect.
Come to return.
With love, 🤎
