2026 has marked a defining moment in the Australia-Canada relationship.

Prime Minister Mark Carney's historic visit to Australia earlier this year signalled a renewed commitment to strengthening economic ties, unlocking institutional capital and advancing cooperation across critical minerals, energy, infrastructure, defence and emerging technologies.

The opportunity is significant. With more than A$250 billion in two-way investment and A$13 billion in annual bilateral trade, Australia and Canada are not simply longstanding allies, they are increasingly important economic and strategic partners.

As the Canadian Australian Chamber of Commerce (CACC) celebrates its 20th anniversary, we invite senior leaders from business, government and the investment community to join us in Sydney for an evening of connection, celebration and forward-looking conversation.

From momentum to opportunity

For two decades, the CACC has helped connect the people, businesses and institutions driving the bilateral relationship. As our governments elevate their strategic and economic cooperation, the private sector has an important role in turning shared ambitions into commercial outcomes.

The evening will also mark the official launch of CACC's May 2027 Institutional Investor Delegation to Canada, an initiative designed to deepen engagement between Australian institutional capital and Canadian investment opportunities, building on the momentum generated by the recent Australia-Canada pension fund cooperation agreement.
