Travel instructions

From Portland/Vancouver: Take Hwy 26 west to Hwy 6 near Banks (left side exit) Take Hwy 6 west to Tillamook From Tillamook, take Hwy 101 south to the turn-off for Sand Lake and Cape Lookout (11 miles) Turn west onto Sand Lake Road and continue to the Meriwether/Clark Reservation entrance (4 miles) From Salem: Take Hwy 22 west from Salem Take either Hwy 22 or Hwy 18 to Hwy 101 Take Hwy 101 north to the turn-off for Sand Lake and Cape Lookout Turn west onto Sand Lake Road and continue to the Meriwether/Clark Reservation entrance (4 miles)

Entry instructions

Those who have purchased an online ticket can skip the line and head straight to the registration gate to check-in. ID will be required to confirm your general ticket admission. REMINDER: Children ages 11 and under are free but still require a general admission ticket.

After entry instructions

After checking in, feel free to explore the Camp Meriwether campus for an open campsite or camp space. Find a CACO camp volunteer or CACO camp coordinator if you need help finding one.

Hazards

Camp Meriwether can pose hazards for people with disabilities, including: 1. Accessibility Issues: Lack of accessible paths, parking, and facilities like some restrooms and showers. (Designated accessible showers and bathroom are available) 2. Terrain Challenges: Uneven ground and gravel paths can be difficult for those using mobility aids. 3. Limited Recreational Access: Some activities and amenities may not be accessible. 4. Emergency Preparedness: Insufficient procedures and evacuation routes for disabled individuals. 5. Communication and Medical Needs: Challenges in communication and accessing medical services.

Toilet location

Camp Meriwether has primitive outhouses and hand washing sinks located throughout each campsite, as well as two main shower houses with accessible and personal bathrooms located north and south of the service roads. The Discovery Lodge also has restrooms with accessibility features.

Accessible parking

There are limited accessible parking option available at the Discovery Lodge.
