Event description

Please Note — 1 Ticket Covers BOTH Days!
Design. Build. Create!
Future Skills, Fun Projects & Creative Tech — All in One Workshop!

This hands-on, two-day workshop is perfect for curious minds aged 10–14 who love to create, problem-solve, and explore technology.

I’ve run design workshops before — but this one is a deeper dive. We’ll focus on the core fundamentals of 3D design and CAD so your child leaves with skills they can use for the rest of their life.

🛠️ What Your Child Will Do:

Day 1 – Thursday 25 September (1:00 PM – 5:00 PM)

  • Learn the basics of Onshape, a professional CAD (Computer-Aided Design) tool used by engineers worldwide.

  • Get hands-on with 3D modelling fundamentals — understanding how shapes, measurements, and design constraints work.

  • Special Project: Create a personalised 3D name tag.

    • Name tags will be 3D printed overnight and ready for them to collect on Day 2!

Day 2 – Friday 26 September (1:00 PM – 5:00 PM)

  • Quickly revise yesterdays topics.

  • Level up their CAD skills by designing their very own custom fully functional fidget spinner.

    • Finished cubes will be posted through the mail to your child after the workshop.

👩‍💻 What to Bring:

  • A laptop with an Onshape account (browser-based, no installation needed, free)

  • A computer mouse (highly recommended for CAD work)

  • Lunch/snack and a water bottle

  • A ready-to-learn, imaginative attitude!

Need help setting up Onshape? Email anytime at seanthetinker.21@gmail.com.

🚀 Why This Workshop Matters:
This isn’t just about making something cool — it’s about building skills that last a lifetime. Your child will gain:
✅ Experience with industry-relevant CAD software
✅ A solid grasp of design fundamentals they can apply to any project
✅ Confidence in turning ideas into real, working creations

📢 Important Info:

  • One ticket gives access to both days of the workshop.

  • If you can’t bring a laptop, contact us at least 1 week before the workshop to arrange one.

  • At the end of the lesson the child will send the cad files to me with there address so I can post the finished spinner to them. Please make sure they know there address or have it on there computer somewhere.

  • Limited to 12 participants — secure your spot now!

📸 MEDIA RELEASE:
We will be taking photographs and videos during the workshops to share on social media for promotional and informational purposes. Your child may appear in this media. Unless you notify us beforehand, participation in the workshop grants us permission to use these images and clips.
