Event description

We hope you can join us for our Anniversary Event: Celebrating 10 years of collaborating to lift labour standards. CAF’s journey to this milestone can be attributed, not only to our dedicated team, but also to the support and collaboration of our industry stakeholders. CAF’s multi-stakeholder approach has formed the bedrock of our success and it is through this collaboration that we have, and will continue to, lift labour standards for vulnerable workers.

The event will be a time to reflect upon CAF’s accomplishments, acknowledge our numerous supporters, as well as provide an opportunity to look toward the future. We are delighted to announce that Anna Booth, the new Fair Work Ombudsman, will be our keynote speaker. In addition, we will have representatives from various other stakeholders who have been instrumental in establishing and sustaining the success of CAF. This includes a cleaner from a CAF Certified building, who will be sharing their experiences as a CAF Representative.

Anna Booth, Fair Work Ombudsman

Appointed Fair Work Ombudsman on September 1, 2023, Anna boasts 45 years of industrial relations experience working with unions, private and public sectors. During her time in the union movement, Anna attracted national attention by exposing the exploitation of migrant women workers in sweatshop organisations. Adding to her achievements, Anna founded the Collaborative Approaches Program during her tenure as Fair Work Commission Deputy President (2012-2020), helping to reshape workplace relations.

Paul Schroder, Chief Executive, AustralianSuper

Appointed Chief Executive of AustralianSuper in October 2021, Paul Schroder leads the fund's strategic development and provides board guidance. With AustralianSuper since 2007, he’s held positions including Group Executive Membership (2013-2016), Group Executive Product, Brand & Reputation (2016-2019) and inaugural Chief Risk Officer (2019-2021). Jo Schofield, National President, United Workers Union

Jo Schofield, National President of the United Workers Union (UWU), is a trade unionist and social justice advocate with over three decades of experience. Her extensive journey as a union member, delegate, and elected leader has been dedicated to championing the rights of women and low-paid workers. In her role as UWU President, she leads efforts to promote equality, empower workers, and drive the union’s reconciliation agenda with First Nations members. Jo also serves as Vice President of the ACTU and Director at Australian Super.

Tony Beck, Chair, CAF

Tony, CAF's founding Chair, leverages a financial services background to champion ethical business practices and sustainable investments while advocating for vulnerable workers. With senior management experience at ME Bank and as National Secretary of the FSU, he brings a wealth of knowledge. Tony also serves as Chair of ACTU Member Connect and has a strong focus on fostering relationships within the building services supply chain, ensuring financial stability, and upholding rigorous corporate governance at CAF.
