What is Café Philosophique?
Café Philosophique runs the 2nd Wednesday of the month at the Bridge Hotel in Werribee, exploring the hidden forces that shape our lives through music, poetry and conversation.
On Wednesday August 13th, we will be exploring the idea of CHANGE.
When is it time to shift gears? Is this even possible? What is good change? When should we resist change, and when should we embrace it? And on a collective note, how do we change the status quo to build more just and sustainable societies?
The evening will begin with a music performance from singer-songwriter Matt Wicking. A creative and inspiring speaker, Matt Wicking is a long-time advocate for environmental and social justice causes.
Matt is also the founder of Cloud Catcher, an organisation that works with progressive groups to help them amplify their impact and push for change to the status quo.
We will then hear from our feature poet Faris Mindal, who will lead us into our own creative and reflective writing.
After some sharing, we will end with some delicious deserts and deep conversations through our "philosophy café".
