Café Philosophique: The Present
Event description
Café Philosophique runs the 2nd Wednesday of the month at the Bridge Hotel in Werribee, exploring the hidden forces that shape our lives through music, poetry and conversation.
On Wednesday October 8th we will exploring THE PRESENT.
Why is so hard to be in the present? Why do we avoid it? How do we find ways to be more present?
To help ground us in the present, the evening will begin with a meditation and sound healing performance incorporating two indigenous cultures from South America & Australia. Playing Yidaki (didgeridoo) is Michael Cussens, a proud Kurinji man now living on Wathaurong country. Pan flutes will be played by Rosamel Burgos, a Chilean born and multi-talented professional Musician mastering many shamanic instruments.
We will then hear from our feature poet, who will lead us into our own creative and reflective writing.
After some sharing, we will end with some delicious deserts and deep conversations through our "philosophy café".
