Callas: A Concert

La Divina - One of the most iconic opera singers of all time

The year 2023 sees the 100th birthday of the late and remarkable Maria Callas. Born to a Greek-American family in 1923, Callas grew to be one of the most recognisable figures of opera in the twentieth century. Despite her premature death, the dramatic commitment demonstrated by Callas has gone on to inspire a number of young singers to practice opera. To celebrate this anniversary and in tribute of this great artist, Concordia Ensemble will stage a number of arias from roles she recorded or performed.
