Calming meditation for coping with grief - Workshop with author Kay McInnes.
Event description
Are you bereaved or feeling grief about things in general?
Island Storytellers presents a very special event with Lamb Island author Kay McInnes, a workshop of calming meditation to help cope with grief.
In 2001 Kay's eldest son Richard passed away from a brain tumour, and then ten years later her only daughter, Michelle, took her own life. “I was shattered by these traumatic events. Realising that I needed to do something, I took the spiritual path. I was looking for my lost children but I found my true self. Over 3 years I wrote a book about my journey –It’s All About Love – My Journey Back to I Am. Some parts of the book were difficult to write but overall I found it to be therapeutic and it helped me in working through my grief.”
Kay facilitates a Suicide Bereavement Group on the mainland and conducts a Meditation Group on Lamb Island once a month.
