Event description
Featuring international artists Jessica Oddie, Amanda Verner, Ken Ichinose, Todd Gibson-Cornish, and the Argyle Trio (Willma Smith violin, Matthias Balzat cello and Laurence Matheson piano), this intimate weekend of chamber music promises world-class performances and a welcoming community spirit.
The festival features two signature evening concerts — one on Friday and one on Saturday — along with a special family-friendly performance on Sunday morning. Full details of our headline evening events are listed below.
Friday 26th September - Spirit & Sound: A Collaborative Opening
Join us for a unique evening of powerful classical music, with a drink in hand, in a casual, welcoming atmosphere. Experience four vibrant sets presented in a dynamic, unexpected setting where the audience intermingles with the musicians, fully immersing themselves in the performance.

The night also features a special collaboration with talented young string players from the Waikato region, performing Karl Jenkins' exhilarating Palladio.

Saturday 27th September - Interwoven Paths
The program features exquisite masterpieces!
Mozart's charming Bassoon Quartet, Mendelssohn's passionate Piano Trio No.2, Op.66, and Schumann's richly expressive Piano Quartet in E-flat Major.
Experience the warmth and intimacy of these timeless works, brought to life by a remarkable group of musicians connected by both global experience and deep roots in Aotearoa.
