Camerata Chamber Choir: Christmas Joy!
Description
Camerata Chamber Choir presents ‘Christmas Joy!’, an evening of joyous Christmas music that spans five centuries.
Highlights include Bach's exultant 'Jauchzet, frohlocket' from his Christmas Oratorio, Holst's Christmas Day, a sparkling weave of traditional carols, and a set of Christmas season motets by Mendelssohn. Dan Forrest's contemporary setting of Angels We Have Heard on High brings the programme up to the present, its lush harmonies giving a familiar carol a fresh glow.
In our Christmas concert tradition, there will be a few carols for the audience to sing along to as well! David Gordon conducts, with pianist Megan Quatermass. Come and welcome the season with fine music and good company. Bring cash for raffle tickets ($5 for 3 tickets) for a chance to win a basket of treats, and we invite you to enjoy supper with the choir after the concert.
Tickets: $30 online, $10 students, children under 13 years free. Tickets available at the door for $35 (cash only and subject to availability).
