Tamworth Black Dog Ride to Cameron's Corner
Join us on the Tamworth Black Dog Ride to Cameron's Corner, and and have a conversation about depression and suicide prevention. Help us get the the motorcycle community talking and join in this ride on Saturday 15th July 2023.
8 Australians take their lives every single day, that's one Aussie every 3 hours losing their life to the black dog.
COVID 19 Arrangements
Please note that all participants will need to comply with state based COVID related instructions (hand sanitisation, social distancing, etc.)
If this ride has to be cancelled due to COVID or related restrictions, all participants will receive a full refund.
Tamworth Black Dog Ride to Cameron's Corner Details:
Support Vehicle:Â This will be a supported ride in that a vehicle and trailer will be made available to carry all luggage/equipment. This is in order that each bike will be as light as practical. Please note, if a breakdown occurs your bike will be transported to the nearest town only and you will need to make further arrangements.
Sleeping arrangements: Tents not swags due to limited space. With exception of the first night hard accommodation is available, subject to availability.
All fuel, accommodation & meal costs are the riders responsibility.Â
Route: A Route recci was conducted immediately following the 1 Dayer. The roads are dirt and most of the route was in the process of been graded, so technically the roads will be in a fairly good condition. There is also an alternative route if weather is bad.

Itinerary:
Day One: 15 July 23 8:00am - Tamworth to Carinda NSW Via Wee Waa and Walgett. Camping at Carinda sports ground. Dinner at Carinda Hotel
Day Two:Â 16 July 23 8:00am -Â Carinda to Bourke Via Mt Oxley. Over night Kidmans Camp. Dinner TBA
Day Three: 17 July 23 - Bourke to Wanaaring. Cook’s tour, lunch at the Information Centre prior to departure for Wanaaring. Over night at the Wanaaring Caravan park. Dinner TBA
Day Four: 18 July 23 - Wanaaring to Tibooburra. Visit MT Wood historical site prior to arriving at Tibooburra C Van Park. Dinner TBAÂ
Day Five: 19 July 23 8:00am - Tibooburra to Cameron’s Corner and Return.
Day Six: 20 July 23 8:00am - Tibooburra to Packsaddle. Visit Milparinka and historical sites.
Day Seven:Â 21 July 23 8:00am -Â Packsaddle to Tilpa (Kallara Stn) White Cliffs - Paroo NP-Tilpa. Dinner TBAÂ
Day Eight: 22 July 23 8:00am - Tilpa to Bourke via Louth- Gundabooka NP. Over night  Kidmans Camp. Dinner TBA. Journeys End.
Day Nine: 23 July 23 -Â Return home at you pleasure.Â
Meals - Light breakfast will be available. BBQ dinner Carinda and Wanaaring. Possible Formal dinner at Kallara Stn TBASafety.Â
First Aid - There will be a Qualified First Aider in attendance. SPOT GPS tracker is advisable.
Recovery - Limited resources will be available. Any specialist equipment pertaining to your bike can be carried by the support vehicle.
Communication - Normal telephone coverage is limited between towns. The Support vehicle will be carrying a Satphone.
Fuel - Range 250 klms max been fuel stops. PLS advise John if this may be an issue for your bike.Â
Climate - Cold nights warm days. Rain: due to the type of country the plan will be to head to the black top. Â
