Campaign Launch: Planting, Stories and Climate Conversations

Protect Our Winters Australia is bringing the community together in Bright for a day of action, connection, and conversation.

In partnership with Upper Ovens Landcare, we’ll kick off the afternoon by rolling up our sleeves for local revegetation and site care—helping restore and protect the landscapes we all cherish (location TBC).

As the sun sets, we’ll come together for a screening of Purple Mountain—a powerful POW US film about finding common ground to tackle the impacts of climate change, already reshaping mountain communities around the globe.

The evening will flow into a facilitated conversation with Landcare, Friends of the Earth, the Resilient Alpine Youth Squad, and the POW NE Vic Local Alliance, exploring how we can build resilience and stronger community connections to protect our Alps.

This gathering also marks the Bright launch of POW’s new Campaign - Protect Our Alpine Future - a call to action to address the root causes of our changing winters and ensure future generations can enjoy the mountains as we do today.

All are welcome to join us for part or all of the day. Please register for what you will be attending. Below are the times for each part of the day.

🌱 2 - 5 PM Roll up your sleeves for local revegetation and site care with Upper Ovens Landcare.
***Meeting at the Bright Senior Citizens Club carpark at 2pm.***
***Please bring long sleeves, long trousers, a sun hat, a raincoat and water. We will be carpooling together from there***

🎬 6 - 8 PM Sit back for a screening of Purple Mountain at Bright Brewery followed by some engaging climate trivia.
*** Expect POW x Bright Brewery beer flowing and some awesome POW merch prizes***
