What do drones, balloons, ships and mini 3D-printed robots have in common? They're all part of the Canberra Women of Science and Art events for National Science Week.

Meet a diverse group of amazing Canberran women working in or inspired by science, tech, engineering, art and maths (STEAM).
These people are anything but ‘boring scientists’ or ‘wacky artists’.Â
Featured at this event will be:Â
- Katie Vidal: Education lead with She Maps. Katie teaches children and teachers how to fly drones.
- Dr Chloe Lim: is a science storyteller, molecular biologist, career coach and balloon artist. She’s also written a book to introduce the concept of genetics to children.
- Claire Harris: Entrepreneur and Founder of Innovate Communicate. Claire helps scientists tell their stories and she’s also fascinated by robot technology, 3D-printing and creating a tribe of robot-art Brave Bots.
Venue
Life Lab in Woden Library. Parking nearby on street or at Westfield.Â
Format
Interactive mini-workshops suitable for young children and families/carers. All ages welcome. Hands-on activities will be provided.
