Event description

'Cancer, Balance & Wellbeing' workshop:  This Integrative medicine cancer workshop follows our 1st very successful workshop last year in Albury.  The programme content is designed specifically for men and women dealing with a cancer diagnosis and those who are keen to prevent recurrence.

We explore the 7 essential elements of the Gawler Cancer Foundation and the Ten Healing Factors of Radical Remission (lifestyle findings of Dr. Kelly Turner, US, who has researched the long term recovery stories of over 1500 people in 10 different countries over 15 years to identify the common healing factors that have created their remarkable cancer recovery stories) and we offer practical teachings and strategies that support both immune function and all conventional medical treatments for cancer.

We're talking EVERYDAY PEOPLE who influenced their own health outcomes by:

  1. Taking control of health
  2. Changing diet
  3. Using herbs and supplements
  4. Exercise
  5. Following intuition
  6. Releasing suppressed emotions
  7. Increasing positive emotions
  8. Embracing social support & connection
  9. Deepening your spiritual connection
  10. Having strong positive reasons for living

This lifestyle approach to cancer is the  Integrative medicine approach  – supporting conventional medical treatments with researched lifestyle changes, complementary therapies and self-care aimed at optimising long term health outcomes and preventing recurrence.

Liz Stilwell, your facilitator, has many years experience in the health field - Occupational Therapy in Psychiatry in NZ, Clinical Hypnosis, counselling and NLP in private practice, Support group leader for the Tauranga Breast Cancer Support Service NZ, and previously as a senior group facilitator leading 12 week cancer programmes and residential cancer retreats for The Gawler Cancer Foundation. Our weekend programme combines teaching sessions on the Healing Factors, group discussion, survivor stories, Meditation and simple Qi gong exercise - loose comfortable clothing recommended.

And I'm delighted that for this Albury workshop we are joined by an Albury local Kaye Ellis and her inspiring long-term cancer recovery story 🙏

The fee of $375.00 includes all sessions, handouts and all morning & afternoon teas.                                            Support persons are very welcome to also attend at a reduced fee of $345.00                                                        Refreshments: Due to varying dietary needs and food intolerances, Lunch is NOT provided – please bring your own lunch meal.

And please note - This is NOT a cancer support group.
You are NOT required to tell your personal illness and treatment story to the whole group. Naturally we have a brief introduction on the Saturday morning – simply name, where you’re from, diagnosis, and what you want from the weekend - then for sake of time, we move straight into the teaching sessions.

So regardless of the type and stage of cancer, if you are proactive and keen to support your medical treatment, your body, and optimise your health and wellbeing, we welcome your enquiry 🙏
