Closing circle of reflection and integration
From Kyra Roberton, Integrative Naturopathic Oncologist:
“Cancer touches us all. Whether through our own health or the lives of those we love, it asks us to pause, to re-examine what matters, and to draw on both courage and community. It is not a single-story illness but a complex and multifactorial condition, influenced by genetics, mitochondrial function, metabolic health, immune strength, and the profound relationship between mind and body.
As a naturopathic oncologist and somatic breathwork therapist, I have witnessed the depth of impact cancer has—not just on bodies, but on spirits, families, and the way people move through the world. This is why, when I speak of integrative oncology, I don’t just mean an approach to treatment. I mean a way of honouring the whole human experience of cancer, grounded in science and carried by compassion.
Conventional treatments such as chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery remain critical pillars of oncology. Yet, when used alone, they rarely address the underlying imbalances or the resilience needed for long-term recovery. This is where integrative oncology steps in—bridging the power of conventional medicine with complementary therapies that restore strength, ease, and vitality. It is not simply about fighting disease; it is about cultivating health.”
