FLING's Adult Community Engagement Programs are a welcoming space to try something new, or return to your body in movement.
Classes are facilitated by FLING's team of professional dance artists and open to all abilities, ages and levels of experience.
Join Dance Development Facilitator Chris Wade in 'Intro to Improvisation'.
WHAT TO EXPECT?:
Intro to improvisation takes a supported approach towards improvised dance practice and its methods, whether you are completely new or experienced.
The aim of the class is to allow ourselves to drop into our bodies and let our instincts inform our decisions. There will also be guidance or offerings in the space to help inform our practice and bring fresh ideas.
WHO IS IT FOR?:
This class is perfect for those looking to shed the tensions and stresses of life and land in their moving body.
All levels of movement experience welcome
*Class content can be adjusted with support from our teachers to suit your mobility needs.
If you have any accessibility requirements or previous injuries you would like to discuss before joining us, don't hesitate to get in touch.
WHO IS LEADING?:
Our Dance Development Facilitator Chris Wade, is a joyous facilitator. His improvisation practice sits in the spaces between body, choice, and environment. Responding to instinct and the stimuli constantly signalling our often already busy minds. Growing up in a regional place himself, he is passionate about bringing young people and community members movement experiences that open doors to creativity and expression.
WHAT TO WEAR?:
Wear warm layers and clothes that are comfortable to move in.
Socks or bare feet are welcome in this session.
Please Note: This event will go ahead with 7 enrolments to the full series. Bookings will be informed by Mon 16 June.
*This class is best experienced in a series, however casual attendance is available.
