the dissolve: candlelight sound bath with somatic breathwork

Where and when

SoulPod, Richmond

  • Sunday 29 November · 6.30 - 7.45pm

  • Sunday 20 December · 5.00 - 6.15pm

Doors open 10 minutes prior to event start date.

It's Sunday, 5.47pm.

The washing's done. You're getting prepped for the week ahead. The inbox creeping into the back of your mind. Tomorrow's meeting is maybe already rehearsing itself in your head.

3 group chats, one voice note from home, a time zone away.

Maybe a good idea you meant to write down, and another forming behind it.

When someone asks how you're doing, you say 'fine' but deep down you feel a little stressed, anxious, or just bloody tired.

Or maybe it's not exactly those emotions you're feeling. Just a hell of alot of loudness on the inside.

What if, for 75 minutes, someone else held the plan?

The first thing you notice is the candlelight, cosy and low against the exposed brick walls. Then your own breath, slowing down without being told to. Then the first bowl, and the hush that follows it...

The arc of the evening · five moments

  • 6:30 pm

    01 · Arrive

Candles lit, mats out, a soft welcome. I'll walk you through everything, so nothing is a surprise.

  • 6:35 pm

    02 · Breathe

Ten minutes of somatic breathwork. Slow and guided, moving your attention out of the busy head and down into the body.

  • 6:45 pm

    03 · Resonate

Thirty minutes of sound bath. Quartz crystal and tibetan singing bowls layered around the room, some soft, some you'll feel as much as hear. Eye mask on. Mind allowed to wander.

  • 7:15 pm

    04 · Tune

I move quietly through the room with tuning forks humming close by, and gentle touch with essential oils for those who'd like it.

  • 7:25 pm

    05 · Land & Linger

Time to come back in your own time. No bright lights, no rush for the door. Yummy herbal tea (hot & cold options available) waiting for you alongside the people who just shared the room with you. Stay for a chat, or slip out quietly. Both are totally cool.

Bring

A water bottle

  • An eye mask

  • Something soft to lie down in (layers are good, as you'll cool down when still)

  • An open mind

PROVIDED: mats, bolsters, blankets are waiting for you.

This is for you if…

You're an overthinker, an over-scheduler or both. You've got fourteen tabs open, in the browser and in the brain ahhh.

You're curious about sound baths but want to know what you're walking into, or maybe you already love them.

You're coming on your own? Lovely. I'll make sure you're welcomed in. Coming with a friend? Gorgeous.

Ps... no inner calm required :)

FAQs

  • What is a sound bath?

A sound bath is a sensory experience, you lie down in a cosy space, close your eyes, breathe fully, and let sound wash over you while a practitioner plays instruments like Tibetan and crystal singing bowls. There's nothing to do and nothing to get right. The sound does the work, and you rest inside it.

  • What is sound healing, and what's the science behind sound baths?

Sound healing uses live, intentional sound to help the body slow down and settle. The research is early but promising... slow, rhythmic sound cues the nervous system out of fight or flight and toward rest and digest, the state where real recovery happens. Studies on singing bowl meditation have found reductions in tension, anxiety and low mood. Most of the benefit comes from something simple - a stretch of time where your body is allowed to be still and space can enter the mind.

  • What are the benefits of a sound bath?

Most people leave feeling calmer, clearer and more grounded. Common benefits include deep rest, a quieter mind, better sleep, eased muscle tension, emotional releases or a spark of creativity energy. Some people cry, some laugh, some sleep, some simply listen and rest.

  • Do I need to meditate?

No previous meditation experience is needed! A lot of people naturally find themselves in a meditative state, but there is no expectation or need to have to control the thoughts - that's never the goal. Thoughts are fully free to wonder, whether that be into deeper rest or a creative solution to a problem or decision you need to make.

  • What breathwork techniques do you giude and is it intense?

The breathwork techniques used in my session's vary a little, but I usually guide a mixture of Box Breathing, slow Diaphragmatic (Belly) Breathing, and Physiological Sigh Breathing to support nervous system regulation and shifting stagnant energy that's sitting the body.

And no. It's slow and guided, and you can stop and simply rest whenever you like.

  • Can I come alone?

    Yes, abso-bloody-lutely!

  • Pregnant, injured or unsure?

Please check with your doctor first, and tell me at checkout so I can explain how the evening can be adjusted.
