CANNED HEAT - Human Noise & Marilyn Maria
Event description
A celebration of all that the inner west music scene has to offer with weekly rotating artists. Canned heat is always local, live, loud & free.
This weeks acts:
Human Noise - There is something undeniably captivating about the razor sharp song-writing of indie post-punk outfit Human Noise. Based between Melbourne and Sydney, the four-piece have built a strong reputation on writing music that is agitated, introspective and wry. Injected with equal measures of angst and humour, their music manages to comment on both the self and society with acute awareness, and like all good satire, leaves its audience refocusing that lens towards themselves.
Marilyn Maria takes its name from a movie star and a religious saint: a dichotomy that mirrors the Eora/Sydney quartet's theatrical, shrewd and disarmingly vulnerable take on pub-rock. Think the dissonance of The Drones meets the surrealism and satire of DEVO.
