Canoe on Swan Bay

Have you ever wondered why wetlands are considered some of the most important ecosystems on Earth? Join educators from the Marine and Freshwater Discovery Centre for an exciting guided canoe tour exploring the internationally significant wetlands of Swan Bay.

Meeting at the Queenscliff Lonsdale Yacht Club, participants will embark on a guided canoe adventure through the beautiful waters of Swan Bay while learning about the importance of Ramsar-listed wetlands and the vital role they play in supporting biodiversity, protecting coastal environments and providing habitat for migratory birds, marine life and other native species.

Recognised under the international Ramsar Convention, Swan Bay’s wetlands are considered environmentally significant on a global scale. This guided experience offers a unique opportunity to explore these protected waterways firsthand while discovering how wetlands contribute to healthy ecosystems and resilient coastlines.
