Canterbury Tech April 2024 Monthly Event
Event description
Canterbury Tech April 2024 Monthly Event
Join us for our April monthly event with Vanessa O'Brien - co-founder and Mark Dunlop - VCTO of
Orbviz
Mark and Vanessa will discuss the origins of OrbViz, the problem they solve and the technical journey from start-up to current state. They will take you through the story of how they evolved an approach to building a product that customers love while continuously modernising the application.
About Mark Dunlop:
Mark tried very hard to be a musician. But having failed spectacularly to practice enough he completed a degree in Computer Science at UC in 1997. Twelve companies later he now has a Head of Engineering role at Xero and is fractional CTO at OrbViz. Mark is passionate about connecting engineers with the business “why” and loves a good mountain bike ride with family and friends.
About Vanessa O’Brien:
Vanessa also tried hard to be a musician, but ended up settling for the equally terribly-paying job of political and business journalist. She based in the Middle East where she worked for some of the world’s leading media organisations including the International Business Times, New York Times, USA Today and DeutscheWelle. It was here that she was exposed to the ever-advancing world of hi-tech, which led (in a round-about way) to her new career as CEO and co-founder of OrbViz.
