Workforce capability, diversity and cultural safety

This session equips CHSP providers to strengthen workforce capability and deliver culturally safe, inclusive services. It aligns with obligations under the Aged Care Code of Conduct, the new Aged Care Act, and preparation for the Support at Home transition in 2027.

Learning Outcomes:

• Apply the Aged Care Code of Conduct for workers and providers.

• Clarify workforce roles, supervision responsibilities and competency checks.

• Implement mandatory training requirements, cultural safety principles and trauma-informed care.

• Support First Nations, CALD, LGBTIQA+ and people with disability through inclusive practices.

• Apply the Diversity Framework and action plans to ensure culturally safe, responsive services.
