Event description

Thank you for your interest in our Business Intelligence Series workshops. Unfortunately, due to several unforeseen circumstances, we have made the difficult decision to postpone this event until early 2023. We appreciated your understanding, and we hope to see you then.

Capitalising on Business & Investment Opportunities in the Primary Sector

The primary sector (food and fibre) is responsible for around $50 billion in exports from New Zealand.  Opportunities abound in land, technology, and life sciences. During our third Business Intelligence Series Workshop we will dive into:

  • The role of the primary sector in New Zealand’s economy and culture
  • Seeing the lesser-known opportunities, and overcoming the knowledge barriers to entry into the primary sector
  • Challenges and opportunities in the agri-sector
  • The increasing importance of agri-tech and its ability to solve key problems
  • The risks of sector polarisation and the benefits of working together
  • Fostering a cohesive and sustainable New Zealand landscape and story

      Speakers:

      1. Campbell Stewart - Chair | Tompkins Wake Partner
      2. Julia Jones - Head of Insight at NZX
      3. Brendan O'Connell - Chief Executive of AgriTechNZ
      4. Laurie Margrain - Professional Director, Chairman, Open Country Dairy

      About Business Intelligence Series

Our Business Intelligence Series Workshops offer the opportunity to hear from some of the best in the business about emerging and trending sectors in the New Zealand economic and business environment. Our workshops attract managers, advisors, corporate counsel, business executives and many more.

Workshops run from 7.30 am to 9.30 am and include a light breakfast. Each workshop we welcome a panel of experts, all of them specialists in their respective fields, to discuss their insights and specialist sector knowledge in an interactive and engaging format. During the workshop, you'll have opportunities to ask any questions to the panel, as well as ample networking time.

In order to provide the best experience possible, workshops are limited to 100 people. Tickets sell out quick so make sure you secure your seat early.

We also offer online/virtual tickets (as well as in-person). You do not need to watch the event live, and can watch the recording for up to 30 days post-event.
